FeedBurner has a well-established, recognizable brand that I extended and used to design their blog, podcast, online internal ads, as well as additional pages of their website. Since the company was a startup and the team was small, I'd typically do everything from sketching a preliminary design with pencil and paper, to designing the web graphics, to coding the front-end.

Deloitte


Personas, Information Architecture, Interaction Design

Deloitte is a prestigious global company that specializes in audit, tax, consulting and financial advisory services and employs about 120,000 people in nearly 150 countries. Since intellectual capital is their main product, their careers site is very important to them.

Deloitte has a global careers site that is customizable depending on the user's country, language, and skill level. There are country content managers assigned around the world who are responsible for adding and maintaining their country or region's content for the Deloitte Careers Site. These content managers are able to localize everything from navigation to related links to which pages and sections display and down to the content that is displayed on each page. The system that they use to do this, the Deloitte Careers Site Administration Tool, is a content management system that was totally custom built for Deloitte.

I was involved with the development of Deloitte's site from 2001 - 2005, the last 2 years being the primary Interaction Designer assigned to the account. The latest relaunch of the site was late 2005. I supervised a team of Interaction Designers who did the Deloitte Careers Site design and had final say on design issues. I was responsible for additions and maintenance after the launch. As well, I had full responsibility for designing the Deloitte Careers Site Administration Tool.

Verizon


Heuristic Evaluation

Verizon had internal development groups who wrote copy, designed, and programmed their careers web site but they recognized a need to have a consultant help them audit their site's features, content, and functionality. I met with the client to define their site's pitfalls and goals and was responsible for completing a comprehensive heuristic evaluation of their site. My recommendations were then given to Verizon's internal development teams to be used in their next site relaunch.

I am a dedicated photographer who shoots not only for a hobby but also professionally. I have taken photographs on assignment, done corporate staff portraits, as well as sold photographs to national newspapers and magazines, publishers for book content and covers, and online publications.
